Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Strained Muscles In The Inner Thigh And Pelvic Regions Be Relieved By Exercising?
I m feeling muscle strain in/with my inner thigh and pelvic area. This is not sex related. Sunday I participated in a 3K racewalk and 1500m racewalk event. Today, when I get up after sitting for a while, I feel strain/pain in those areas. Sometimes it s relieved if I walk around. Can this be relieved through exercise or a heating pad?
You have strained the specific group of muscles while doing the race walk. The most important treatment is REST to the muscle groups, till complete resolution of the pain, and healing of the muscle fibers. A heating pad can help in relaxing the muscles and relieving pain. Please do not exercise until the injured muscles completely heal, that is when you have no discomfort at all.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Ajit Kumar Varma
