Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Strenuous Exercise Cause Difficulty Urinating?
Can strenuous exercise cause difficulty urinating. I'm 51, male, it happened just once associated with strenuous dirt biking for hour on very hot day. 3 times felt I needed to void and couldn't until 3rd time, after I rested. PSA is normal, checked about 4 months ago. No fam. hx of prostrate cancer. Thanks!
I am so sorry to hear about this difficulty urinating that you experienced. It is unlikely to have been caused by excessive exercise. Maybe sitting on he bike for a long time might have been responsible for that. This is very unlikely to be related to a prostate problem as it has never returned again. I will recommend that you stay calm and only seek further medical attention if it recurs.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
