Can Stress Cause A Delay In Periods?

My girlfriend and I had sex about 2 weeks ago. She has is a week late on her period. Is she pregnant. She has also just recently moved into college. I know stress can play a role in having a late or missed period. Is she pregnant or could it just be a delayed period?

Stress can definitely cause the menstrual period to be delayed. I would suggest she take a home urine pregnancy test to be certain.
