Can Stress Cause Hair Loss?

I have noticed hair loss from the temple to above my ears on both sides.I have been under a great deal of stress in the past three months. THe death of two family members.I also have hypothyroidism but the numbers are normal. Could this be genetic? I am 68 female.

As per your complain severe stress as well as hypothyroidism are two most potent causes of hairfall and it can be a cause in your case..
