Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my bp in the past couple wks. have been 170 s/117.. the diastolic had not been under 100 for a while.. I am on a beta blocker Inderal and have been for over 30 yrs. can it be due to stress.. just lost my mother from bc a few months ago which was a shock and have always lived with her and I took care of her. When she was diagnosed, she lived only 4 months due to it was a very rare bc.. it started out as melanoma of the breast which you don t get, but had another kind of bc in the other breast.
I am also sorry for your mother. It is true that increased stress can have an effect on your blood pressure.
Different hormones are produced by your body when you are in a stressful situation by narrowing your blood vessels and increasing your heart rate.
You must understand that your mother died of a fatal disease and it was destiny. Please be strong and take things positively. Consult your doctor if symptoms persist or worsen.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
