Can Sudden Strenuous Exercise Cause Difficulty In Breathing?

18 year old male. About two days ago now I started having a terrible time breathing. I feel a hunger for air and always breathe deep but it s never satisfying. When I breathe, my chest and throat get really tight like there s a lot of pressure and I try to yawn but I don t really yawn if that makes sense. These symptoms caused me to have a panic attack and I started crying uncontrollably afterwards yesterday. It s making me feel scared all the time now. On a side note, I exercised for the first time in 2 and a half months that day which consisted of an intense series of push-ups and abdominal exercises. Is this related to the exercise and/or should I go to the ER (I ve been debating it)?

Allergist and Immunologist 's  Response
Hello,

I think you have to rule out a lung disease by meeting a pulmonologist, anyway it might be a anxiety problem that needs some time to stabilize.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
