Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good morning, My name is Niclas and I am suffering from a bacterial tonsillitis for several days now. I am now on antibiotics (Penicillin v) for 35hours. Neither my doctor nor the package insert say if I can have direct sun contact. The weather is really good today and I do not feel sick (no fever). I would also use a sun protection of 50. Do you know if sun and penicillin v can react together? I heard now several times that a skin rash can be a direct cause? Thank you so much for your help! Niclas
Hi, Sun protection can be used. They do not have any known interaction with Penicillin V. Penicillin V can cause skin rash in individuals who are allergic to the drug. Otherwise it is safe.
