Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
yesterday evening my legs and feet were swollen. the swelling in the legs and feet have gone down some, but they feel very sore and achey. i just contributed it to the fact that i flew in an airplane yesterday for 2 hours. i have had that happen before, but this morning when i woke up my face was swollen. i could hardly see because my eyes were so swollen. i did get a pretty good sunburn on my forehead monday, could that be the cause of my issues?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Swelling all over the body starting from legs and feet and then involving face appears to be due to allergy. Is there any history of exposure to allergic agent like some food item or some environmental allergen in the air? If yes then allergy is the most probable cause. Anti-histamine preparation will help to resolve these symptoms. However, there are many other causes of swelling like cardiovascular diseases, renal diseases etc. A clinical assessment and relevant investigations are required to assess the function of these systems.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
