I have several fibroids and my Gyn told me I had to have surgery because they are large. She said I cannot shrink them because of the size. I am desirous of having children and really want to get rid of these fibroids I am 37 will be 38 in a few months. My hubby and I have never had any children. It is affecting my sex life because i feel pain during intercourse. I have never ever done surgery before and I am somewhat scared. What do u think. if the fibroids are multiple and are more than 5 cm in sizes, then you have to undergo surgery to remove them. unfortunately, removing the fibroids will not assure that you will get pregnant. this usually depends on number of fibroids removed during the surgery ans the extent of damage to the uterus during the surgery. your age is another important factor which reduces your chances of pregnancy. if the fibroids are big, you still need to remove them, as they can grow to huge sizes and you may need a hysterectomy. so i will recommend the surgery as soon as possible.
