Can Swelling And Bleeding From Nose Mean Something Serious?

Hi, I was hit in the nose 5 days ago and it is still bleeding here and there. Once when I sneezed, once when I was coughing a lot, and a few times just out of nowhere. Is there something really wring? Should I go to the hospital?? Im starting to become concerned. Thank you so much! Oh, by the way, yes my nose is swollen and I have a black eye pretty bad on one eye and the other eye very slightly.....and my nose still hurts and is burning when I breathe up it...

Hi, you have had maxillofacial trauma and swelling post that is quite common along with bleeding nose. Swelling in the facial region takes a lot of time to go especial in nasal and orbital region because of loose tissue there. Bleeding if it is minor and mostly clotted after so many days in not to be worried about but if it is still fresh and in large amount needs to be looked into. Also there can be septal hematoma if you are having nasal obstruction. If you are not getting relief in few days or if there is nasal obstruction or external deformity of nose or problem with jaw movements, please consult an ENT as you may need an xray or CT scan face. Otherwise analgesics with anti-inflammatory should help. Regards
