Can Swollen Liver Be The Reason For Pain In Between Right Chest And Stomach Along With Diarrhea?

My father is of 45 years of age, he does not drink and hasn't for about 4/5 years. This weekend he had diarrhea and His Right side, In between his Chest and the beginning of his stomach; i am assuming liver is swollen and hurts. His back is beginning to hurt as well. He was feelings kind of fatigue this evening so he took 200mg of Ibuprofen and put an ice pack on his side. any ideas on what it is and do you think he should go to the doctors? he hasnt had a check up in 13 years.

further evaluation needed.

visit treating physician/gastroenterologist .
further tests needed:

1. Liver function test 2. HBsAg (if NOT vaccinated against HBV)
3. anti HCV 4. Lipid profile 5. CBC 6. stool test 7. ESR


after obtaining results of aforementioned tests, post here or visit treating physician.
meanwhile:
advice:
- boiled water intake
- ispagula with yogurt to combat diarrhea
- abstinence from alcohol
- FAT FREE diet or low fat diet
- NO red meat
- vegetables should be ingested daily
- Moreover, less activity should be carried out (no sports), REST more.
- use lemon juice (lemonade) once in a day
