Can Tab Gilenya Cause Side Effects In A Thyroid Disorder Patient?
THYROID DISORDER I was diagnosed in 2007 started taking meds in 2009.i have been on Gilenya for 3yrs now and have recently went to the doctor to be told I have thyroids and need to take meds for the rest of my life. I believe this is a side effect from Gilenya I to get tightness in my check sometime problems breathing bumps on my face I m coming off I take Gilenya at 1pm everyday and today was my last day I go to neuro next week I will not start thyroid meds and see what happens
First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, you are taking gilenya for your neurological disorder but the thyroid doesn’t seem to be the side effect of this drug.
You need to consult your endocrinologist for this issue and may need to take thyroid med otherwise symptoms may worsen.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
