Can Taking Celebrex Be Safe To Treat Knee Pain And Swelling?

I ve been diagnosed (via ultrasound) with a mildly, complex papilloma (fluid) behind my knee. Some days it s not so bad, but many days my knee is very swollen and it hurts to walk. This is really cutting into my lifestyle and I find I ve gained weight from not being able to be as active. I just started taking Celebrex today. Will that help eventually and should I be using ice? Any other suggestions? Do you think I should get an MRI?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per the narration, it sounds as if Popliteal cyst behind knee is the issue of current concern.

* It is best recommended to undergo MRI knee for getting further details of the underlying pathology and get tissue details for best guidance of cure.

However, the Celecoxib will work as an anti inflammatory drug for primary pain relief for sure and can be consumed after meals to avoid stomach problems.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
