Can Taking HCG Diet Drops Cause False Positive Test Results For Pregnancy?
Hi, so I was on this diet called omnutrition. I was on it for 5 days, I had to take 10 drops of HCG drops under my tongue 3 times a day. I missed my period before starting the diet, but sometimes I m irregular. I took a test today, and I tested positive. I m just wondering if these drops could be causing a false positive or if these drops don t have anything to do with it, and I am in fact pregnant?
As you have supplemented HCG so a UPT is of no value. Please repeat the test after 10 days. By that time, the HCG taken externally would wean off and the test would be positive only if you have a gestational sac.
2 Tests of Serum HCG can be done in an interval of 3 days and values would almost double if you are pregnant.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
