PCOD is a disease related to life style.in this serum insulin will be high due to insulin resistance that will cause abortions in early stages of pregnancy.we have to see that serum insulin is maintained in normal range before pregnancy itself and care has to be extended for 3 months after conceiving with tablets like metformin daily.over weight also contributes for insulin resistance, so weight mauintainance also helps in lowering serum insulin.tablets you mentioned are harmones useful for regularising periods as well as preventing pregnancy, which should be taken under drs guidance.for pcod it is not the lot of tablets that is required, but life style changes are required with medication.you have to reduce oils, salt, sugar in diet, diet should include fresh fruits, vegetables, balanced diet and regular exercise like walking or going to gym for 1hr a day is required to maintain body weight in normal range that will help in regularising periods and you can take tab like metformin after consulting a qualified gynaecologist who will decide the dosage after appropriate investigations and can continue the metformin after conceiving for 3months under drs guidance.
