Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Taking Paracetamol Along With Sinemet Cause Severe Leg Pain?
If have just had spinal surgery and am taking paracetamol 500mg x2 X 4 per day. I also take sine met and rapini role for my parkinsons. I am experiencing pains in my legs and would like to know if the paracetamol which I do not take in these quantities may be responsible, thank you, Paul Rogers
Severe leg pain is commonly not due to Paracetamol or Sinemet, though Sinemet may cause muscle stiffness. Leg pain is a symptom of Parkinsons & you already have a history of it.
After spinal surgery, some patients experience leg pain as the nerve roots may take time to heal.
It may take 2-3 months time to heal but if you continue to have pain you should get routine & follow up clinical examinations done to rule out any developing complications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
