Can Taking Prednisone For Hives Cause Pain In Back And Shoulders?
On Saturday I felt an achy pain across my back, above the shoulder blades. The achy pain went away but yesterday and today I noticed prickly bumps where the pain had been. The bumps are not itchy or warm to the touch. Also, I have recently been on a six day prednisone taper for hives on my eyelids. I took the last pill on Thursday morning. I am not sure if it is related but I developed hives on my eyelids again yesterday and though the swelling has gone down significantly, they are still slightly swollen.
Hello, Welcome to HCM. I have read your history carefully. Are the prickly bumps on both sides or one side? Are they burning? If they are burning & unilateral, they might be shingles. They can happen as you were on steroids for some time. You should consider taking anti viral medicine. If they are on both sides, they can be just prickly rash which may not be related to steroid. Swelling of eyes can be due to side effects of steroid. If swelling on eyes is reducing, you need not do anything as it will go away soon. Hope this will be helpful. Do let me know if you have any further questions. Take care.
