Can Taking Provera Be Safe During Conception Prescribed For PCOS?
hi, i was diagnosed with PCOS..so i have irregular period.we are planning to have a baby again..my husband will be home this Oct 22..my OB prescribed me Provera,should be taken on my 16th to 25th day of my cycle..then clomiphine on my 2nd day of cycle..my question is it safe to take Provera by next Month? can it help me to get pregnant by taking it?or it would possible harm if i get pregnant?thanks more power
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Provera has been prescribed by your doctor to be taken for regularizing your periods, since irregular period is one of the presentation of PCOD. Clomiphene has been prescribed as it would help in induction of ovulation at proper time, since ovulation also altered in PCOD. You can follow the schedule as suggested by your doctor in this cycle or in the next one depending on when your partner would be available. These drugs will increase the chances of conception, but doesn't gaurentee it. You may have to try this several times with repeated follow-ups in case it doesn't happen this time, until it happens.
