Can Temporomandibular Joint Disorder Cause Dizziness?
yes, I have spurts of dizziness so was in ER all day yesterday. Dr prescribed Mexlizine and pharmacy delivered it this morning at 10am. It still isn t working by 3:15pm. All tests were normal so Dr thought it has something to do with TMJ in right jaw. Last few days lots of popping but all stopped yesterday morning. Sylvia Colombo Topeka, KsColombosyl
Popping sounds can be due to Jaw joint related problems that can be due to dislocation of the joint, dislodged Articular disc that is a soft cushion present between two bony ends of jaw joint while can also be due to other causes..
As far as dizziness is concerned it can be due to number of causes like dehydration, severe weakness, side effects of any Medication if you are taking, Any underlying illness or disorders related to Ear or nervous system..
Consult a Neurophysician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like MRI SCAN can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. You should continue Meclizine as it can be helpful.
Hope this helps..
Regards.
