Can The Bulge In Knee Be Related To The Surgery Performed On Torn Meniscus?
I have severe knee pain can hardly walk, even being off my feet does not stop pain. Do have a bulge at back of knee. Now the pain is also in my calf on inside part of leg, leg with pain does look bigger than other leg. Had a torn meniscus last August and had surgery to repair, doctor was supposed to work on Bakers Cyst at same time. I have had the pain for 5 days now. Am getting worried.
Hi. This is a Baker's cyst. The possibility is either there is a recurrence or may be it was not operated upon. Many times there are situations during actual surgery that the Surgeon has to take decisions on-table for the safety of the area or the patient. The operative notes will help. Anyway a symptomatic cyst needs removal. Removal will definitely help you to alleviate this pain and swelling. Wish you a good recovery. You are welcome with further queries / reports of MRI or so.
