Can The Hymen Rupture During Masturbation?

Hello, in my culture it is important for a girl to have her hymen intact and not broken. I m a virgin, I have never had sex, however, when i was younger I used to masturbate using my fingers, i remember only spotting happening afterwards and not complete bleeding. It was not very painful however it was uncomfortable. Only now, years after, that I realise that this was not okay for my hymen. Therefore, I gently put my middle finger inside my vagina and there was no problem or pain. Did I break my hymen? please help.
