Can Traction At Physical Therapy Cause Dizziness The Day After?
Can traction at physical therapy cause dizziness the day after? I went to physical therapy yesterday and today I have been feeling dizzy all day. I am fine if my eyes are closed, but when I open them, any slight movement makes me feel unsteady and kind of dizzy.
You are getting traction at physical therapy. Presently you are experiencing unsteadiness and dizziness. Slight dizziness may occur on traction for a short time. If it is continuing for the whole time, you should talk to the Physical therapist or osteoarthritis. You may need to stop traction and give yourself a break. The symptoms you mentioned can be due to pulling the vertebral artery or twisting it somehow during traction that's causing a brief reduction of blood flow to the brain.
Dizziness and facial tingling are symptoms of vertebral-basilar insufficiency. If muscles strain around the spine on traction you should talk to your treating therapist or doctor. Do not panic, physical therapy is an effective solution to many forms of vertigo and conditions that cause dizziness. Get clinically examined by an ENT to detect vertigo or BPPV, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. You will be treated accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
