Can Unprotedted Sex 30 Mins Before Fitting Copper Coil Lead To Pregnancy?

Hi I had the copper coil fitted for emergency contraception. I had it fitted on the last day to prevent pregnancy. I have bled for 9 days and now it has stopped. I had inter course on 2nd jan and 5th jan and my period is due tomorrow 20th jan. I have jad sore breasts and heart birn since 3rd and 4th of jan. Which I dont usually get. My breats have now began to feel normal now and are not sore bit I am worried that may be pregnant as I had on 30 mins left to get coil fitted when I had it done. Could I be pregnant and when would be the best time to test or would a scan be better as my symtoms have not subsided and the heart burn is getting worse Kind regards Melanie

Hello Melanie and welcome.

It would be wise to test for pregnancy. If it has been more than 2 weeks since the unprotected sexual contact then using an early morning urine sample, check your pregnancy test. You may have to repeat the test once every week for at least 3 times to get accurate results.
