Can Urodynamic Testing Be Done A Day After Cystoscopy?
my name is esther belleza, 68 yrs old. I jst had cystoscopy this afternoon , normal results. I am scheduled for urodynamic testing tomorrow @ 230 pm. I am having pressure /slight pain when I void, no hematuria. I was given pyridium tid and macrobid bid to be taken 3 day as a urinary prophylaxis. . Is it ok for me to get the urodynamic test done or reschedule for another day ? . I am afraid the proc might aggravate my problem now. thank you so much.
Post cystoscopy symptoms of discomfort, feeling of burning in urine, frequency of urine and slight hematuria may be present for one or two days in some cases. As you are still having a slight pressure or feeling of pain when voiding, you are advised to get postponed your procedure of urodynamic testing and get it rescheduled.
In urodynamic testing, usually two small catheters are placed in the bladder, hence a recovery time is needed to recover the bladder from any minor injury, swelling etc., which might have been caused by the procedure of cystoscopy. Hence, I will advise in your case to get the procedure of urodynamic postponed at least for 7 days and preferably for 15 days.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
