Dear doctor,
2 days ago i fingered a girl. On one of my fingers was a small wound from scratching where i completely forgot about. The wound wasn't completely rehealed and a bit open. Vaginal fluid got on the wound. Asuming that the girl i fingered had a STD of hiv, is there a chance i am infected now? I'm really scared and i did a dumb thing. please help doctor.
Hello This is a very sensitive question , if the girl was having HIV infection or STD , chance of getting infection by you with this method is more because there was open wound in your finger while vaginal secretion , if contaminated with virus may be able to spread infection through wound. Anyhow now don't take any tension , get in rapid PCR , RNA antigen antibodiesELISA test for HIV infection . Usually antigen to antibodies begin to appear within 2 weeks of initial infection . Also get in VDRL test for STD confirmation . Deal as mentioned then consult a physician and get his opinion.
Hi, dear. I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. You have very rare but definite chance of having hiv. Don't worry most of thr time its not spread the hiv. Just be relaxed. Just go for confirmatory hiv testing once after a month of exposure. You can go with pcr for hiv. Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
