Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can we get Vitamins D/ K(K1 & K2), B6/ B9/ B12 from the six servings of Vegetables that Dr Aparna Kholi s response mentions below? If yes, how should the vegetables fruits be taken? With peel/ without peel. Uncooked/Cooked? (if cooked, any inputs of what type of cooking - temperature/ duration/ method / medium i.e. oil/ water qty - as I have heard elsewhere that heat destroys some of the vitamins. Please respond.
Hello dear. Thank you for using Healthcaremagic. I read your query and I understand your concern. Vitamin D is not or very little found in vegetables .it is found in fish salmon and sardines etc. Vut k is synthesised in body not taken by vegetables. Vit b group are found food such grain, corn beer etc . They are not destroyed by cooking. Of course we take them by eating but in case of deficiency is better to take them by supplements orally. Best regards.
