Can We Diagnose The Difference Between Cystic Fibrosis And Onset Of Bronchiectasis Through Blood Work?
Hi - just wondering if in the blood work up you can diagnose the difference between Cystic Fibrosis and the onset of Bronchiectasis? I have read that Psuedomonas Aeriginosa and Stapphlococcus Aureus are more prevalent in CF related Bronchiectasis than non CF but I would think you still see both those bacteria in CF anyway?
Namaste Welcome to Healthcare-Magic Greetings of the day Cystic fibrosis is one of the the cause of bronchiectasis, normally Pseudomonas is not present in Cystic fibrosis unless it's complicated by bronchiectasis. Bronchiectasis is a radiology diagnosis, and it's not possible to tell by blood test when bronchiectasis occurs. Take care Regards
