Can Weaning A 5month Old Baby Cause Dysentery?

My baby is 5 month now.he is exclusively breast fed.when he was 4 months n 15 days he was started with weaning feeds.since 2 days he is suffering from dysentery. Can weaning cause dysentery or has he acquired infection from an outside source? When should I resume back to weaning? Plz suggest.

You can wean him as soon as his dysentery stops.
Continue breast feeding. If he is having lots of diarrhoea make sure he does not get dehydrated. See your doctor if he is having dysentery with blood in his motions.
It is important to prepare the weaning food fresh in small amount just for the meal time. If you are cooking, make sure it is properly cooked so there is less risk of infection and food poisoning.
