Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can a tight waist belt cause dizziness ? I know it can disrupt your bowels and digestive system or what not but would it have any affect on blood flow to my brain ? I m 22 weeks pregnant & whenever I wear tighter pants I just feel like complete shit in general
Normally the tight belt should not affect the arteries that feed the brain. On the other hand, because you are pregnant and your uterus is quite bigger than normal, the tight belt might press the uterus against your back where vena cava goes up bringing the blood from the feet to the heart.
This pressure might reduce the amount of blood that goes to the heart and indirectly affect the amount of the blood that is fed to the brain which in return might make you not feel good.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
