Can Weight Changes And Mood Swings With History Of Having Unprotected Sex Indicate Pregnancy While Being On Nexplanon Implant?

Hey, I'm currently on the Nexplanon implant, Birth control. I've been on this since November of 2012 . Me & my boyfriend has had unprotected sex & not pulling out for 3 months & a half. I've noticed weight changes & mood swings. I've took a 89 cent pregnancy test & it was negative. But I still feel I need to get further info before I waste my Money on another one.

Hi and thanks for the query,
It is possible. However, the commonest cause of delayed periods is actually a pregnancy. It is necessary to do a good pregnancy test, either using urinary beta HCG level measurements of blood beta HCG measurements. I suggest you consult your primary care doctor. An abdominal ultrasound could also be of great help. Kind regards
