Can Weight Loss And Loss Of Appetite After Taking Chlorthalidone?

I ve been taking chlorthalidone 25mg for 2 years along with another high blood pressure medicine. Since then my blood pressure has been very good. Last year I developed diabetes and continue to loose weight. I don t have much of a appetite. I feel tired all the time. Now that I ve read the side effects of this medication I wonder if I ask my doctor to change my medication if my diabetes will be reversed. Or perhaps reduce to 12.5 mg.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Loosing weight and exercising may change the blood sugar levels reducing them so I believe you may need to reduce medications levels or stop them at all. You should monitor glucose levels, fasting, after meal and Hba1c before changing treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
