Can Weight Loss Pills Be Consumed While On Treatment For Hyperthyroidism?

Hi, my question is that I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism a couple months ago and I want to if its alright to take the herbalife pills to lose weight and boost metabolism while I take my daily dosage of methimazole pills? Do you think its alright and if anything, will it affect me in a negative or positive way? I want to take this because it seems like I ve gained literally 20 pounds ever since I got on my thyroid pills.

Hyperthyroidism is related with weight loss and hypothyroidism with weight gain . If you are gaining weight while on methimazole then I would strongly recommend to get TSH levels tested to know whether your doses of methimazole causing hypothyroidism or no , if yes then there is need to adjust your doses first with consultation of your Endocrinologist . As far as herbal pills are concerned so I don't think any necessity of that . If your doses of methimazole are behind your weight gain then adjusting the dose will help you in that . I would also recommend you to exercise regularly and have a healthy diet .
Consult this further with your endocrinologist and get the TSH levels tested.
