Can Wheezing Sound Upon Exhalation Be An Indication Of An Allergy?
My Son will be 7 months old Friday and has had a wheezy sound on the exhale and a runny nose for a little over a month. Can it be allergies? He has been coughing more recently, drooling, and is just getting over a diaper rash. He doesn t have any teeth yet. his sleeping isn t consistent either.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Sirisha's Response
Wheezing is the sign of allergic asthma.it leads to breathlessness due to which he is not sleeping consistently.coughing may also be due to this asthmatic attacks only.It is better he is taken to a qualified paediatrician immediately who will examine physically and do investigations and start treatment.he requires antibiotic and anti histanines as well as inhaled drugs like salbutamol and if severe inhaled steroids which can be determined after physical examination only. His sorrounings should be maintained clean to prevent these kind of attacks. primary teeth eruption starts from 6-8months. You can wait for 2more months and then consult paediatrician regarding this.you have to maintain the child's nutrition so that milestones will not be delayed.
