Can Wine Be Consumed While On Sertralin For IBS?
I have started to use Sertralin for IBS. 24 mg a day for a week and then one tablet a week. A long treatment I have been told. I have read that one should not drink alcohol while taking the medicine. What about a couple of glasses of wine on the weekends?

You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with sertraline. Alcohol can increase the nervous system side effects of sertraline such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Sodrink alcohol while taking sertraline.Taking alcohol along with Sertraline can also , make you restless, sleepy and lose your focus. So, during the first few days, it might be best to stop drinking alcohol.However after few weeks 30-50 oz can be taken at weekends.
