Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m a female age 22 years. Having excess hairfall and also dandruff. .so I went to a homeopathic doctor. .he suggested me mesotherapy and also tricosilk F solution daily nd tricogro capsules. .but on tricosilk solution bottle its written not to be used in women of reproductive age group ... is it safe to use it as my age is 22 ?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Composition of Tricosilk F solution is Finasteride Topical (0.1%) and Minoxidil Topical (5%). This medication is mainly used by men in the treatment of alopecia androgenetica (male pattern hereditary hair loss). Minoxidil is a vasodilator. Finastride decreases the amount of (dihydrotestosterone) DHT and leads to increased hair regrowth and slower hair loss. Use of this medication in women can cause hormonal imbalance leading to side effects such as abnormal hair growth on face and body. Hence, it is recommended that it should not be used in women, particularly in women of reproductive age group. Kindly consult Dermatologist and get evaluated, so that proper medication which would suit you can be prescribed and can be used safely. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
