Can you tell me about this result? From an 80 year old woman
The Brain stem, sella and pituitary are normal. Parasellar structures are unremarkable. There are no abnormalities in the cerebellopontine angle areas on both sides. There is no acute intracranial hemorrhage, territorial infarction, mass lesion, abnormal extra-axial fluid collection or midline shift. Segmental intimal calcification are noted in the bilateral internal carotid and vertibrobasilar arteries.
Minimal formed cerumen is seen in the right external auditory canal. The paranasal sinuses, petromastoids, orbital contents and bony calvaria are unremarkable.
Impression:
1. Small area of subacute infarction or ischemic changes in the right anterior semioval center, right corona radiata and left precentral gyrus.
2. Old lacunar type of infarction in the left lentiform nucleus.
3. Minimal white matter microvascular ischemic changes in the bilateral periventricular white matter regions of both frontoparietal lobes and both semioval center.
4. Mild to moderate cerebrocerebellar atrophy
5. Atherosclerotic basal vessel disease
6. Minimal form cerumen in the right external auditory canal
