Cancer, Recommended Removal Of Left Kidney, In Need Of Urinating Often. Suggestions?

they did a procedure to look at my kidney because a mass was there and when they could't reach the mass that is when they put the stent in to strech the kidney so when they did the procedure again they were able to reach the mass and to collect a sample of it and it turned out to be cancer so now the doctor wants to take the left kidney out but the problem I am still having with the stint is constant need of urinating about evey 3-5 minutes.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to HCM.
It can be complication of any endoscopic or invasive procedure. There can be some damage of bladder or ureter, but also this is sometimes only temporary neurologic disorder and it should pass after short time. If tumor is causing this then it will gone after surgical procedure. There are some medicines which can help you and recommended dietary such as certain teas vegetables. ASk your GP about this. WIsh you good health.

Oncologist, Surgical Dr. Rohan Khandelwal's  Response
Sorry to hear about your problem. Incase of cancer the kidney does need to be removed and the stent will not affect the surgery. The increased frequency of urination is probably because of urine infection, which is quite common after stent placement. You should have your urine examination done and start an antibiotic before surgery.

Hoping for the best.
