IBS. So the passage of mucus is not too surprising. The stools quality may change even during the IBS condition. So maybe that is why you are feeling surprised.
As to the pink colour, there is a high possibility that the colour is due to the pigment of something that you may have eaten, This food substance can cause the pink discoloration.
However, to be on safer side, have stool for occult blood tested. If its negative, you need not worry and the colour is due to other causes, not blood. If it is positive, a
colonoscopy may be needed to look for the source of blood
