Cause For Having Diarrhea?

Last week I had a colonoscopy which revealed microscopic colitis. I have had watery diarrhea for the last 3 months. I have an appointment to see the gastroenterologist in one month. Is it safe to take Pepto Bismol 1-2 times daily until I see the doctor? My current medications include: levothyroxine, dexilant, metoprolol, simvastatin, low dose ASA, cymbalta, fish oil, osteobiflex, Ca with VD, and a MVI. Would any of these cause diarrhea? Metoprolol, cymbalta and simvastatin are relatively new (4 months). Also, if I'm taking Pepto Bismol should I continue taking the low dose ASA? Thank you. Paula.

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
Of course you can wait, till the appointment, but you should follow the diet restrictions, and can use the peptobismol, and if useful, you can continue. The number of medicines are more,if some of them are omitted, you can have relief. But not the last group.A.S.A can be taken.
In the mean time I advise you to consult a local doctor for diagnosis and treatment.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms ofloxacin, ornidazole, ranitidine, lactic acid bacilli, and loperamide when ever necesory.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
