Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I carefully read your question and understand your concern.
You seem to be going through rhino-laringitis, which is a viral infection of nose, throat and that effects the lower part of the throat, the larinks.
it is a self limiting infection and heals in 5-7 days. It is a good news
fever is gone, this means your immune system is keeping it under control.
Cough might also make the loss of voice worse because of traumatising the vocal cords.
I would recommend you to drink plenty of fluids, avoid hot drinks, it is good to have warm drinks and tea but not too hot as they can burn the healing mucosa.
You can also take pain killers like
tylenol and
Ibuprofen, cough syrup with guaifenesine is very good also.
Lost voice might take a while to come depending on how much you hurt the cords with cough or speaking so try to not shout or speak loud, do not sing during this time and healing will take place.
If fever comes back or you do not improve in the next few days or earlier if you get any worse you will need to see a doctor.
Hope this is helpful and answers to your question
