Cause Of Right Flank Pain? Recent Bladder Infections, Possibility Of Stone. Stopped Antibiotics, Rebuilding Probiotics

what is the cause of right flank pain? i have had a variety of issues going on from recent bladder infections that have been concurrent and the possibility of stone. the doctors have now taken me of all antibiotics because between 9 different types ,my immune system has become weakened and so I am trying to rebuild my probiotics back up. is it still possible that i can have a stone in there? tired of being ill. I have had a recent diagnosis of HVS 1/2 in September after being celibate 10 years ,then to find out my partner is more into men thean me but gave me this without concern. please give me advise.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Right flank pain may be due to kidney infections also, apart from any stones. Stone in kidneys needs to be confirmed by doing ultrasound scan. Any blockage to the flow of urine will also be seen on ultrasound. The history of bladder infection can cause infection to ascend along the ureter rarely and very few people report this condition. If you have taken antibiotics this is less likely a possibility. Mean while you can get a urine culture and sensitivity test also and check if there are any resistant forms of bacteria in the urine which might need an newer antibiotic which you have not taken so far.

Please drink lots of water and visit washroom regularly.

Hope this helps
