Cause Of Sensitive But Non-itchy And Non-painful Skin Hanging From Labia Minora?
I just noticed a string like dangling piece of skin hanging from my labia minora it is a little sensitive but does not itch or have pain ...it is still small and has a red round tip.....what is this ? I am 46 and never had anything like this before...I am not very sexually active...maybe once a month..could you please help me ?
It can be distressing to find a change anywhere on our skin, but especially so on the genitals. While this could be one of the many skin changes associated with aging, the most common growth on the labia is a genital wart caused by a sexually transmitted virus, HPV. There are other rarer causes including skin cancers of the genital area (vagina and vulva). Inspection by a GYN, and possibly a biopsy in the office (using local numbing medicine) will give you a definite answer.
