Chances Of TB Having Suspicious Densities In Lungs And Severe Cough And Cold?
my husband had his x-ray and the result was that he has a suspicious densities on left lung. He visited the doctor because of cough and colds for about 2 weeks already. the doctor said that if it's positive, it might be tuberculosis. what are the chances that it is really a TB? where possible did he get it? he is not smoking, into sports, works on a graveyard shift, he drink alcohol occasionally at most weekly. please help. thankyou
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your husband's situation and problem. He is having cough with expectoration for 2 weeks. These are symptoms of tuberculosis. He is also having suspicious opacity on chest x ray. This makes tuberculosis more likely. Get done sputum examination for AFB ( acid fast bacilli ). If this is positive then he is having tuberculosis for sure. He can also get done CT thorax and bronchoscopy for further confirmation of tuberculosis. So better to consult pulmonologist and discuss all these. Tuberculosis is 100 % curative, so don't worry about it.
