Changed The Medicine From BARR To TEVA. After Taking Feeling Nauseous, Pain In The Neck. Side Effects?

I have been seeing an ADD specialist for 5 years + now (I take 40mg per day). While the dosage seems adequate for now, I noticed that when my pharmacy filled my prescription yesterday, they changed from using the manufacturer BARR to TEVA. I didn't notice it on the label, but when I took my dosage I became slightly nauseous and experienced some pain in the back of my neck. I have been taking the BARR brand for years. Is there a difference in the two brands? The pharmacist insisted that there was not, but I'm reluctant to take any more and reluctant not to take any. Didn't seem to help my ability to focus either....any thoughts?

Hi there ~

I understand your concerns. I do not think it is because of the medication that you had the side effect if it was a side effect. I believe even though you have started using a different brand the generic medication is the same. I also think that there is no difference between the two medications and it is safe to take the new medication. There will be a small period of time about 2-5 days in which you will acclimatize to the new medication.

I hope this helps. Take care and have a lovely day!
