Cheekbone Injury, Swelling Felt When Touched, Dimple Caused. Should I Be Concerned?

Hi, my daughter fell on the steps at school about a month ago and hit her cheekbone. The bruise is gone but the cheekbone still feels swollen by touch, nothing visible, and she now has what look like a little dimple in her cheek. Should I be worried? I heard that bruising on the face can take up to 6 months to heal?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Bruising on face usually heal within 1 week unless there is any underlying hematoma.

The swelling may be due to a hematoma formation.

X-ray may be required to know any underlying bone involvement.

Consult the pediatrician for physical examination and further management.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
