Chest Between Breasts Painful After Falling. Pain In Middle Back, Left Arm, Unable To Sleep. What Does It Indicate?
I tripped when my small dog got tangled in the bottom of my nightgown while walking in the living room..I fell and hit the front frame of the couch. I fell onto the upper chest/sternum area. Now my chest between my breast is very painful and under my left breast area , middle back and pain radiating down my left arm. I cannot sleep in the bed as its too painful to lay down. My recliner is more appropriate for comfort. I have packed pillows around to hold up my arm as this feels better than letting it hang. Not sure exactly what Ive done.what do you think??
Hi, Thanks for the query . The possible causes for the pain are : -Because of fall, there could be injury to muscle leading to pain and spasm. -Bones and nerves can also get affected while falling. Minimal pain usually subside with rest and analgesics. So take some analgesic tablet and take rest. If the pain persists or increases in severity, better to consult orthopedician once. If needed you can go for chest X ray with doctor's advice. By examination and investigations the possible cause for your problem can be identified and treated. Take care.
