Chest Pain. Having Vagel Reflex. Family History Of Heart Problems. Suggestions?

My son is a college student lives at home and has a pretty mild life style. He is 6' 1'' @150 lbs. He has been experiencing chest pains. He has vagel(sp) reflex and passed out 2 days ago and hit his head. He said it was brought on by the chest pains. He is reluctant to go to the doctor. I feel he needs to be seen. We have a history of heart issues in the family. do you think he has reason to be concerned?

Hello,

It is advisable to rule out any cardiac condition due to strong family history. Consult your doctor and ask for X ray chest to rule out chest infection and cardiac enlargement. ECG and Echo may be required to rule out heart ailments.
