I have had a pain in my chest for three days. The pain is on my right side about two to three inches down from my collar bone. I first noticed the pain when I got awoken by it the other morning. For a few hours it got so bad I could barely move. It gradually dulled but will not go away. I m sure it is nothing big, but the pain is very irritating.
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
Do you have cough with sputum/ fever/ breathing difficulty?
Chest pain on right side may be due to underlying lung parenchymal involvement (pneumonia), muscular pain, costo-chondritis and neuropathic pain.
You should consult with physician and should go for chest x ray on urgent basis.
Lung parenchymal involvement can be detected by chest x ray.
If chest x ray is normal then you may have muscular pain or costo-chondritis.
In such condition, you should take analgesics with muscle relaxants.
Take care,
Dr. Mayank Bhargava
