Chest Pain In Anxiety. EKG, Ultrasound, Treadmill Test Normal. Serious?
I have been going to the doctors since January for chest pain problems, they have done multiple EKGs and I even had a treadmill stress test and ultrasound on my heart with the cardiologist telling me I'm fine and its anxiety, I just got upset with one of my friends and while yelling I felt the pain and it was sharp and have on and off felt the pains since January, I'm scheduled to have a nuclear stress test on May 15th but I do not want to wait that long because I'm concerned it is my heart, what should I do
dear sir/ Ma'm
thanks for writing to us.
A pain which is in mid chest and comes always on exertion and relieves by rest is likely to be anginal or cardiac or heart pain. But if the pain comes suddenly, comes as a sudden very sharp pain, lasts for less than a minute, can be elicited by touch or pressure, does not comes up on exercise/running/exertion, it is more likely to be non-cardiac (non-anginal). Moreover since your TMT & cardiac USG is ok the probability of having a real significant problem is low. i agree with your cardiologist's advise. Relax. get your stress nuclear test done. and discuss with your cardiologist.
sincerely
