1. When a patient follows in my Clinic with complaint of
chest pain I usually follow the following protocol
i. Is it related to heart (Cardiac cause has been ruled out)
ii. Is it related to breathing like h/o trauma-pleural pain- local rib tenderness- intercostal tenderness (Consult a chest physician for the same)
iii. If pain is related with food could be possible
esophagitis or
indigestion & Gas
iv. Avoid all oily and fried foods-like pakodas,samosa,namkeens,potato chips, puri- bhaji,potato,sweet potato,chana dal,brinjal, avoid aerated drinks,over eating,do not sleep immediately after food-have a small walk after each meal.
v. take easily digestible food:roti is preferred to chapati,all preparations should be less spicy,vegetables and fruits contain fibres and should be taken in plenty.
